Avery hair is getting longer. I can actually put cute little pig tails in it now. It was actually Brett's idea to do it the first day we tried. Brett told me I should try to do them. She looks cute and she cooperates better than I thought she would. Now she looks like a big girl and not a baby anymore :) Here are just a few cute pics of Avery's first few days of pigtails.

and this little girl!We got Avery her first pet this weekend... a GUINEA PIG. Her name is Stella. We like her. Avery was pretty cute with it. The first night we got it I was holding it and Avery would poke it and laugh. Stella was such a good sport to let Avery do that. Later that night Avery was in her room and she came out in the living room where stella was in her cage, but she was outside the little house that is in her cage, and Avery started crying and ran back in her room. Then Avery kept peeking around the corner to make sure that Stella went back in her little house.
Avery is just fine with Stella now and loves to touch her when I get her out to hold her. It is fun to have Avery's first pet... of course we would have perfered a dog but we aren't able to have one here where we live.
Brett keeps saying "I think that you're more excited to have it then Avery is. Are you sure it's Avery's pet?" 
I took Avery out to play in the snow the other day. She loves the snow. She always brings me her socks, boots and jacket to put on her and then goes and bangs on the door telling me she wants to go outside, but she hasn't been feeling well for the past few days so she would throw a fit when I wouldn't let her go outside but she has been getting better so we finally got to go play in the snow. The Monday after Christmas we all woke up at about 6:00 to a loud bang on the door. My dad ran to the door to find a guy say "is there anyone in that house next door because it's on fire." A guy working at a factory near where my parents live saw smoke coming from my parent's neighbor's house. Not long after we were all woke up a bunch of fire trucks and ambulances and cop cars come with sirens and flashing lights. The guy that lives there drives truck and luckily he wasn't home at the time. The fire fighters were there for about 2 1/2 hours. The fire was started by a space heater and there was mostly just a bunch of smoke damage done to the house and everything in it.

Avery loves to help me with everything recently and i have really learned to be more patient. I really do like when she wants to help me and do what mommy is doing even though she wants to touch everything and makes a mess.
Here she is helping me sew and making Christmas sugar cookies.
Avery also loves to type on the computer. And when we were in Burley for Christmas Avery had to bring this little chair that my mom has into the bathroom and do her hair with me.
For an Elder's quorm activity we had they took us to the beauty college and the husbands had to give their wife a manicure. It was fun. Brett did a surprisingly good job. Even though he did pick colors I would not normaly pick. He was all about making me look like a Florda Gators fan. (check out the orange tips)

We have had quite a bit of snow lately so I took Avery out to play for a little bit. She loved it and didn't want to go inside even though it was pretty cold outside. 
I decided to get a hair cut. I had a hard time deciding whether I wanted to grow it out or get it cut. I really wanted to grow it for a while but I hate that stupid awkward stage in the growing your hair out phase so I decided I couldn't take it and I got it cut. It isn't my favorite. I took my chances by going to the beauty school and the girl who cut my hair, to put it nicely, wasn't very good. Her trainer had to fix everything she did. I did not leave there very happy. It is shorter than I wanted it, but there is nothing I can do about it. I guess I'll just have to wait for it to grow.
The other day I was making dinner and I looked over at Avery to find her standing in her Daddy's shoes... too cute!
Avery also loves to talk on Daddy's phone. She is learning so many things and is such a joy to have in our life!

Avery was excited to help with the ortaments... well actually just play with them and pull them off the tree after we put them on. Oh well :)
Our beautiful Christmas tree!This year we went to Washington for Thanksgiving to spend it with Brett's family. We had a really good time. Thanks Mom and Dad! We got to spend time relaxing... just getting a break from school and work. We went and saw the movie The Blindside all together while Avery stayed and played with Peyton. It's a great movie. I definetly recommend. Brett got to watch lots of football and play basketball while the girls went thrift store shopping. Brett's Mom specializes in thift store shopping :) She always finds the best stuff. We also all went shopping on Black Friday, but we didn't get up early to go fight the crowds... there wasn't anything we were dieing to get. We had a good time just spending time as a family. Brett has a little cousin, Peyton, who lives right across the street from Brett's parents so him and Avery had a good time getting to play together while we were in Washington.

Avery liked Grandma's swing. She got mad every time I took her out of it. 
This is on the car ride home but believe me she was not this happy the whole way. 8 hours in the car is not Avery's idea of fun, but she did suprisingly well. The only bad thing is that Avery gets car sick she threw up about a half hour into the ride both ways and then when we were getting to Washington she threw up just as we were pulling up to the house... talk about timing.
