She'll be here soon!

We are getting ready to welcome Oakley into the world. Brett's mom made this adorable quilt for Oakley. (Avery has one just like it but it is just different colors) We only have about 7 more weeks and I am getting excited about having her. An update on us... Brett is still busy with school and midterms are coming up soon. I am so excited to be almost done with student teaching. I have about 5 more weeks of lesson planning and a little over a week of observing left so it is coming close to ending. I love student teaching (most days). I am kind of tired of being so busy though and I know this may sound weird but I can not wait for those few days of resting in the hospital; I would say of resting at home after the baby comes but I do have a two year old so it may be a little different then it was when I came home with just her. :) We are excited to be blessed with another child though and see our family grow.

To end Avery's 2nd birthday we went swimming at the hotel that Grandma was staying at. It was the perfect way to end her birthday. Avery loves swimming. We had to make her get out of the pool after about an hour or so because she was turning purple, but she did not want to get out. We love our little Avery. She is such a happy fun little girl!

Look Whooo's 2!

Avery had her second birthday this last Saturday on the 16th. I can not believe that she is 2 already. Those past two years went by so fast now that I look back. Avery had a fun birthday. Brett's family got to be here. My mom got to come down and Peggy and Jon and their kids came over to share her day with us. Here are some pictures of our little celebration. I did a little owl theme for her party and made some cute decorations and a owl cake.

We also thought it would be fun to get Avery a pinata for her party. It's a donkey but she kept calling it a pig. It was kind of funny. I guess the nose looks a little more like a pig then a donkey.
The kids all got a turn to give a wack at the pinata. Finally with the help of 8 year old Ben it got broke open and they all rushed for the candy
Brett and I decided to get Avery a couple games for her birthday. We got her this Elefun game and hungry hippos.
Us adults had fun playing hungry hippos too! :)

New Puppy

No we did not get a puppy, although we wish we could. While Brett's parents were here for Avery's birthday they got a puppy. They got this adorable golden retriever. Avery absolutely loved the puppies. We went out and looked at them a couple of times before they actually got the dog. There were 13 puppies and Avery had so much fun playing with them all. These top two pictures of of grandma and grandpa's new puppy that they got.


The puppies were chasing Avery around. She loved it.
While we were out looking at the puppies they let us pet their horse and let Avery have a little ride. She loves animals so much. It was fun to let her play with them all.
