Boarding

Brett and I went up to Kelly Canyon this last weekend to snowboard for our first time this season. We love to go snowboarding but we usually only get to go a couple times a season. I have been learning for the last couple years and have always just been butterflying down the mountain but now I can actually carve down the mountain. My last time down before we left I carved all the way down and only fell once! Brett was patient with me and helped me learn. Thanks hun. Love you! Someday I will be able to keep up with you! :)

THis is me doing a cool trick... yeah right i wish... it's actually me trying not to fall

Havin fun riding up the lift :)

Brett and his snowboard getup

This is me practicing and Brett going off a jump.... to bad he didn't land it but he slide a long way on his stomach :)

p.s. Greg don't judge my snowboarding skill by this video. This was at the beginning of the night by the end I was carving good and turning fast. i will show you... someday

Just Chillin'

I came home from class the other night and Brett showed me this cuttest picture of Avery that he took. Avery just sat down like this and was enjoying her time talking on the phone to Grandma. I just thought it was too funny and cute and wanted to share :)

Birhtday Party, Hanging w/ Friends, and Temple Square

We went down to Utah a few weekends ago for our nephew, Trevor's, first birthday party. Him and Avery had fun playing together, although Avery did like to tell him who was boss, by telling him no and even pushing him away from his own Mom. Someday I'm sure he will get back at her. We got to see our friends Julie and Ian who live in Utah now. We miss them being here in Rexburg but it was fun to go hang out for a night. Ryan and Rachel got us all tickets to a BYU basketball game where they killed the other team by 40 points. Thanks for the tickets you guys it was fun!

Sunday Brett's family and us all went to temple square together. I was so excited to take Avery and show her everything. She loved it.
The cute houses in one of the visitor's centers where the most intriguing for Avery.
Where Brett and I were sealed for time and eternity.... I love going to temple square. It is such a beautiful temple and it is so amazing how they built it back when they didn't have any of the things that make construction so much easier now.

Avery loved just running around from building to building.

Daddy and Avery looking up at the temple. This was Avery's first day that she said temple. It was so cute.

Dad giving Avery a fun ride around the conference center.

Our happy family that will be together forever because of the gospel and the things that Christ has done for us and the plan that our Heavenly Father has for us. We are so grateful and feel so blessed to be a part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We love the gospel and we love what the temple offers us. I love to go to temple square and the spirit that is felt every time that I go there.

Little Miss Jatter Box

This little one says so many words now. I just thought it would be fun to post Avery's Vocabulary as of 16 and a half months old, although it grows more and more everyday. She is always learning to say new words.
These are the words I can remember that she says off of the top of my head right now...
Uh oh, oh WOW, apple, up, bookie (reffering to cookie), dad, mom, hi, hello, ya, bye, zip, more, mine, wuff (what a puppy says), booooo (what a cow says), bock bock (what a chicken says), thank you, please, cheese, sippy, hey you, bovie (meaning movie), baby, Jesus, temple, and of course NO!
She also loves to just jabber and she loves to scream. Screaming is how she expresses pretty much any emotion.

Avery also loves to play patty cake and ring around rosies, and when I sing lots of other fun songs with her. Avery can point to her hair, eyes, nose, mouth, ears, hands, feet/toes, and her favorite is the belly button because if you ask her where her belly button is she will show you, but then also has to find yours too. She is just getting so big and still so darn cute!
My two most favorite people. I love them so much!

it's finally growing

Avery hair is getting longer. I can actually put cute little pig tails in it now. It was actually Brett's idea to do it the first day we tried. Brett told me I should try to do them. She looks cute and she cooperates better than I thought she would. Now she looks like a big girl and not a baby anymore :) Here are just a few cute pics of Avery's first few days of pigtails. This picture is just a fun one when we put all her little flower bow clips in her hair.

My Avery is such a cute girl!

Sledding!!!

I love this boy...
and this little girl!
c
We took Avery Sledding for her first time on Monday. They have the perfect little hill for kids in a park here in Rexburg. She thought it was so fun. She laughed and smiled a lot except for the time when I took her down and my feet were flicking snow in her face... she didn't like that so much. She even went down a littler hill by herself. It was so fun to take Avery out sledding.

New Addition

We got Avery her first pet this weekend... a GUINEA PIG. Her name is Stella. We like her. Avery was pretty cute with it. The first night we got it I was holding it and Avery would poke it and laugh. Stella was such a good sport to let Avery do that. Later that night Avery was in her room and she came out in the living room where stella was in her cage, but she was outside the little house that is in her cage, and Avery started crying and ran back in her room. Then Avery kept peeking around the corner to make sure that Stella went back in her little house.
Avery is just fine with Stella now and loves to touch her when I get her out to hold her. It is fun to have Avery's first pet... of course we would have perfered a dog but we aren't able to have one here where we live.

Brett keeps saying "I think that you're more excited to have it then Avery is. Are you sure it's Avery's pet?"

Playing in the Snow

I took Avery out to play in the snow the other day. She loves the snow. She always brings me her socks, boots and jacket to put on her and then goes and bangs on the door telling me she wants to go outside, but she hasn't been feeling well for the past few days so she would throw a fit when I wouldn't let her go outside but she has been getting better so we finally got to go play in the snow. Here are a few pictures of us playing.

Fire

The Monday after Christmas we all woke up at about 6:00 to a loud bang on the door. My dad ran to the door to find a guy say "is there anyone in that house next door because it's on fire." A guy working at a factory near where my parents live saw smoke coming from my parent's neighbor's house. Not long after we were all woke up a bunch of fire trucks and ambulances and cop cars come with sirens and flashing lights. The guy that lives there drives truck and luckily he wasn't home at the time. The fire fighters were there for about 2 1/2 hours. The fire was started by a space heater and there was mostly just a bunch of smoke damage done to the house and everything in it.

It's hard to see in this picture but at the back of the house there is a huge cloud of smoke coming out the roof

Fun Festivities

We had a good week and a half in Burley this Christmas season. We got to see everyone in my family except Nancy and her family. We miss you Nan! We just had fun spending time together. On Christmas eve we all went to Grandma Hurst's house for her Christmas Eve dinner. We spent lots of time hanging out at my mom's house with every one. Brett and I went to Avatar on night while Avery spent some time with Grandma and Grandpa. We all wanted to go sledding up at Pomerelle but the day every one could go it ended up being too cold so we went bowling instead. It was fun to go see everyone and spend time with my family.

Our Christmas morning

We had a really good Christmas. Brett and I woke up and were just laying in bed waiting for Avery to wake up and she never did so about 8:00 we decided it was time for her to wake up so we woke her and took her out to see what Santa brought her. She had fun opening presents. She would open it point and say wow. It was so cute. It is o fun to have little kids around at Christmas time.

Big Helper

Avery loves to help me with everything recently and i have really learned to be more patient. I really do like when she wants to help me and do what mommy is doing even though she wants to touch everything and makes a mess.

Here she is helping me sew and making Christmas sugar cookies.

Avery also loves to type on the computer. And when we were in Burley for Christmas Avery had to bring this little chair that my mom has into the bathroom and do her hair with me.
